MY STORY

Professional Certified Coach, Coach Trainer, Mentor Coach and Mindfulness Teacher.

My journey led me to my calling — to coach others on their journey to the beautiful life that awaits.

A Portrait of Certified Coach Barti Bourgault

Like you perhaps, I felt lost. I didn't have a clear path to see what to do next. I could feel the discomfort of the internal conflict — striving to be what I thought I was "supposed" to be according to unexamined standards while living a life that in truth felt like I was living in someone else’s skin.

I was in my 40s, anxious and struggling, but unable to find relief. I was filled with doubts and fears that were confining. My life wasn’t working for me and something had to give.

I started looking for deeper meaning and understanding. I pursued psycho-spiritual trainings, got my Masters in Consciousness Studies, got certified as a yoga and mindfulness teacher, and read volumes about trauma and healing modalities.

All that was highly beneficial, yet what facilitated lasting change was working deeply with skilled and loving IFS coaches. I went on the courageous journey to become intimate with my own internal world and there, I found myself.

I made three decisions: 1) to live attuned to my own nature, 2) to trust that I can do work that makes a difference for individuals and ultimately for the world and 3) that indeed the universe conspires for us.

I left my marketing career and dedicated my work to what had been calling me for so long — to bring healing and awakening to those who are ready for their courageous journey toward change.

I now experience greater compassion, wholeness, contentedness, hopefulness, freedom, confidence, and acceptance of my gifts. When I finally listened deeply to what my spirit was yearning for, I was led here.

So here I am offering what feels true to me:

MORE ABOUT ME

I live in Portland, ME.  I am also blessed to spend my summers on a lake in the woods in the beautiful little town of Wayne. While I enjoy the diverse offerings of the city, I also know the rhythm of nature soothes me. I am blessed to have access to both.

I have a loving and supportive husband, and a step-son who is an exceptional young man. My two cats, Pudge and Sidd, keep me laughing on a daily basis.

My interests include traveling, cooking, hiking, skiing, gardening, and creating spaces for beauty and joy to arise. I have a daily practice that includes yoga, meditation, and a spiritual reading.

I’ve come to learn two important things: 1) that life is easier when we allow it to naturally unfold and 2) life has a great sense of humor.
